In the sweltering summer of 1980, Hu Bayi, Shirley Yang, and their eccentric friend Big Gold Tooth set out on an expedition to Wu Gorge, a mystical region in Sichuan Province, in search of rare antiques. But their return was marred by tragedy when Tooth, seemingly out of the blue, fell gravely ill after ingesting a mysterious substance. Desperate to save their friend's life, the trio embarked on a harrowing journey to Wu Gorge, driven by a singular goal: to track down the antidote that would spare Tooth's life.
